She took care of my kids while I was there, got them dressed, did their hair, played with my kids and painted their nails--both things that would suffice to be a highly successful day alone for me. And then Hazel kept asking me to leave since I told her I would do some errands because she could tell Melanie was going to be much more fun than me today! So I took off on some neglected errands while Mel made muffins with the kids--she was watching 5 remember? And made with ingredients she brought herself in case I didn't have them (including fresh ground wheat she made yesterday). Cleaned up the entire kitchen afterwards, including mopping which I'd mentioned hadn't been done in nearly 3 months and was driving me crazy (it was so gross), fed the kids lunch--which she also brought stuff for--and continued to clean and tidy the rest of my house.
I came home to a clean and orderly house and happy children--I am so blessed to have a friend like this! How I love good people and vow to be a better person. Thank you for your good example Melanie and for all of my great friends who I watch and learn from--I will be better because of you!
