Date Night!

No, not the movie, which I heard ended up to be a bit smutty, which I'm bummed about because it looked fun, but anyway, date night with my man! Can I just say, I LOOOVE dates? We traded with friends the week before so we dropped our girls at their place--which we knew they would love because they had two little girls too--and then picked where we'd go.

We have a bazillion restaurant.com coupons that Josh has gotten at 90% off (which means, $.40-$3!) so we opted for a restaurant a couple of streets away from our friends that we love for it's charm so we could spend more relaxing than finding parking where I originally wanted to go (Santana Row). Josh also didn't want to go there because he didn't want to spend our time waiting to be seated and have to spend the time shopping at nearby stores--which was totally part of my perfect date night plan! I guess we still see our differences from time to time:).

What a delightful little situation when we parked, effortlessly, next to Good Will (what, not your Friday night party place?). Josh agreed to go in since I promised to keep it short and look in the shoe sections. Isn't he so cute? I think he's excited to be leaving and off to dinner.
Check out our loot! Super duper cheap too--those shoes are brand new from Target (they dump their excess at Good Will). They had 4 colors and I had a hard time choosing. Anyway, I had a great surprise that the shoes were $2 cheaper than planned--$4.99! Go get some.
Here is the cute street.
And a better view, in more than one way.
We went to Tarragon, which I'd say is seriously overpriced if you don't use a coupon. We had one though, so with appetizer, pricey entrees, tip, we only paid $21. And it was a really fun environment, I loved that. And our funny foreign waiter. And all the bread they brought out, just plain, yummy white bread. I don't like the restaurants that get all creative with the various breads because seriously, if I'm eating out, I want plain ole white bread and butter, it was so yummy.

I had pork with a mustard seed sauce and goat cheese polenta. I've always wanted to make polenta, but you'll realize how ignorant I am when I went to the store yesterday, couldn't find the grain anywhere, and realized once home that it was actually just corn meal, hmm, no wonder I've never been able to find it. And that's the end of my food tangent.
My favorite part about the date? Just talking with Josh and having a relaxing evening!! It was soo soo nice to just veg with him, talk, relax, be fed, and know that our girls were having a great time (and we weren't paying a sitter!). I realized my favorite dates are the ones we don't just go to a movie, which sort of stinks because I LOVE going to the theater, but hey, we can watch movies at home!

Q: Your favorite date?

I love dates. It's been awhile since we went on one without the kids, July I think, because Shane's schedule is so crazy and babysitters are just so expensive.

We had an 'in-home' date on Friday where we used a restaurant gift card we'd been given to get take out and watch a movie. It was fun. I'll take it!

Glad you're enjoying your time before baby number three comes!
