Guess I left it in the basket too long.
Maybe you can't tell what I'm talking about since there are two picked through loads underneath the newly dumped laundry square on top so it just looks like a large mass. See it now? (it's the cluster of colorful kids clothes in the shape of a laundry basket--rounded edges and all). And here's the winning shot, you can see the indentation from the basket along the top there.
In case this sort of thing is foreign to you, congrats, I wish I was more like you (honestly). You see, the original pile of two loads (oh, and it's clean in case you were nervous, that would just be gross:), had been sitting there for about a week with the kids clothes in the basket on the ground, but the basket sat in the living room to spread the joy around.
Now if only I'd taken follow up pics throughout the next week, you'd understand why I had to dump the basket on the head of other clothes. If however, you have had spells like me, then you understand we were starting to run out of underwear (part of the original pile--the silver lining is that it does go away on it's own since we have to wear them:) and hence, needed the basket to do more laundry. I think I managed to fit two more loads on this couch, but who wants to see my underwear.
Josh has been out of town the past two days but before he left, he very sweetly mentioned he was running low on dress shirts--that has it's own dirty clothes for a "delicates" wash--but he was careful about how he said this because "something something" about it not being a good idea to wash them if they were to be placed on the monument (which would just be more work for me since he has wrinkle free shirts if hung right up, but if set in a basket, it would take ages to undo the creases from that thing).
So my little gift to Josh was spending HOURS today (you'd think I only have two fingers on each hand) folding all the 5 piles up loads, or what was left of them. I did notice Hazel wearing a shirt she NEVER wears--but I love--because it was among the last 3 or 4 in her closet though, so maybe this is a good thing! I finished off all our dirties by doing three more loads of laundry and folding ALL of them! Okay, I got ahead of myself, I forgot about the one last irritating load hiding behind me as I type. I better get folding since my man will be home soon.
May you have a laundry free day in memory of mine!
ps--and I know this is my job and all so saying it's my "gift" to Josh is like him saying he's giving me a present every day he heads off to work. It will just feel like a gift to him because my job performance has been so low. It's no fair my job has so many "optional" parts to it that just affect quality of life:). I'd so be fired if someone paid me to do this homemaking job.
Q: Ever had a pile like this? With imprinted basket lines?

yep. today i did. let's be pals. :)
Holy cow! The story of my life. I'm always pretty good about DOING the laundry, but our clean clothes will sit in the basket until it's mostly empty because we're using everything in it! :) Ha, ha. Although at some point, worn clothes will be placed too near the clean clothes and we're confused about which ones are actually clean, etc. and I'll end up doing MORE laundry...so that plan actually isn't all that good. Lately, I've been dumping all our freshly laundered clothes on our bed, so we have to put them away before we sleep!
Unfortunately, I know this scene way too well myself! Half the time I end up washing it again because I convince myself that I will take it out of the dryer right away and fold to avoid the extra ironing...and I say ironing like I iron a lot (I don't). Also, I keep telling myself that if I had a nice new washer and dryer I would enjoy doing laundry more...I don't think that would last long, but maybe it's a good excuse to get a new washer set. Anyway, way to go on finishing it up! I'm sure it feels wonderful! Now until next time...
um yep. those pictures could have been taken at my house!
So my problem is putting them all away after they are folded! Darn clothes why can't they clean and put themselves away?
I try to do Laundry every Monday... and then Scott and I fold together while we are getting caught up on our TV watching for the weekend (we watch on the internet).
I hate laundry!! The only thing about laundry at my house that makes me smile is that I have a big old sign above my washer that says...'Williams Family Laundry. Steadfast and Immovable.' Grr!
