1. This is the only highlight for me from what I saw. I love these, and given the right event to wear them in (presumably only in NYC), I totally would.

3. And how, oh how, can you keep a straight face in this outfit man. Can't you hear it screaming at you, "Please, don't wear me! Give me back to Cher's grandmother's closet where I can rest in peace! Minus the hat, you can give that back to the forrest gnomes."

4. I think this one is the most humorous. How can a group of this many people, dressed up like alien futuristic followers of a fashion dictator keep straight faces? They almost look like they think it's cool too. Which maybe it is, now that I think of it, it does sound fun to be dressed up like that with a bunch of people doing the same.

Tell me how How HOW can't she be sort of smiling here? I think this outfit is hysterical, from a distance anyway. You know you better be careful if she comes into negotiations wearing this, I think it's the perfect outfit to speak for you so you don't have to when mean business.
10. And my favorite of the group because this model has the guts to sort of smirk/smile at what she's wearing. Or is she grimacing since the table skirt is about to take her skeletal frame down?
What is pretty about those arms?

What is pretty about those arms?
The girl is definitely pretty, but those poor arms, they look completely malnurished, which I assume goes for the whole body that fortunately we can't see. While I love this outfit for the sake of pure fun, I have a little sickness at seeing the model. I thought Brazil was in the news about a year ago for models that were too skinny, but it may have been the French. Why do designers want them to be so skinny? I do love how the skirt looks so huge and flowy though:).
Q: What do you think about them being so skinny? Attractive? Why?
Q: What is the purpose of this fashion week? Seems like a lot of work without any real sales potential. Is this soley for the name to get out there?

Those are hilarious. Seriously, it is like the "emperor's new clothes". When is the fashion community going to speak up and say, "ummm, your line is absolutely ridiculous."
Let's see something with some actual wearability here.
I know "fashion week" is supposed to push the envelope, but when you have girls wearing tables, I think it's gone a bit too far. Ugh.
I watched this slide show on MSN 2 or 3 times. I almost peed my pants I laughed so hard. Who are they kidding? "My inspiration was furniture" "Animal inspired" Animal inspired is awesome animal print stilettos (which I wear sometimes to cook dinner when I'm feeling otherwise frumpy)---NOT, repeat NOT tucks shooting out from my bustline.
I love your commentary, it made me laugh out loud. It's literally like they were all thinking "modern means unusual, so I'll just try and think of something that has nothing to do with clothing and make them wear it". So funny.
I think the elephant one is my favorite because it's SO ridiculous...but while I was looking at the pictures I kind of thought they were all my favorite. =) And I would totally wear those shoes given the right event in NYC, too!
So sad that they're so skinny - I think I heard once it's because they want them not to be "bodies" but to be "hangers" for their clothes. I'm pretty sure I heard that on a modeling show.
Anyway, it was so good to talk to you today. Miss you!
Afton, you're telling me you seriously never wanted to look dead and wear furniture? And here I thought I was getting to know you...
I like those shoes too, but I would wear any shoe with the right outfit.
Wow, a bit early for Halloween? I like those first set of shoes though. Who buy or even wear them? AND where? The tusk outfit cracked me up.
They're VERY outrageous, but hilariously entertaining to see.
I love this post!!!!!! So entertaining. First, I actually really like those shoes. They're so fun. I love the last pic. For sheer creativity/photo opp. However just so totally unrealistic. Which is a common theme here isn't it. So obviously in the high fashion world it doesn't matter if it isn't functional but all I can think is "COME ON! Are you kidding?!!" I actually think the couch one could be pulled off. Tusks? Not so much. I guess models do have talent besides walking and posing--acting-how hard would it be not to smile?!! (As you pointed out.) I actually really like the mega high white collar.
