I just checked my comments for my busy Saturday post and noticed that there was one on there from the announcer at our half marathon. I have no idea how he found my blog, okay, well I guess google probably pulls it up, but still, he posted a comment telling me I was third place for my women's age group. Fun huh?
It wasn't quite the time I wanted, but I'll take a place any day! As much I like big runs with lots of people to keep me going, placing with average times is also a boost in self confidence! These pictures show me that I should really push a little harder, I don't look like I'm trying hard enough...my running pics always end up like that! I should take note.

WAY TO GO!! I can't believe you got 3rd place - that's so hard at our age because there's so many fast women... I guess that includes you!
And no, no, you look like you are seriously pushing it in this picture! I don't know what you are thinking silly. =)
You're amazing, Afton! You make me sick! I wish I had your kind of motivation to run.
Way to go! You are awesome. You definitely look like like you're pushing it in those pictures--look at your stride length.
Great job!
Congratulations! By the way, you're definitely a fast runner, I don't know what you're talking about with all this not trying business.
Color me impressed. We had to run 5 miles for the Special Olympics during POST and I thought I was going to die. I don't know how you runners do it.
You all make me smile or laugh. REally, that's nice of you and everything, but I know I don't look like a "real" runner. You know, the kind that are just naturally good and are all legs. I'm all torso for the record and what comes naturally is the desire to just sit at home watching the Today Show and eat a yummy breakfast first thing in the morning, or better yet, just sleep in.
So thanks for the motivation! Gary, I still think 5 miles is far, so way to go!`
