I was on my friend Kathryn's blog and she was debating on whether or not to get pink or black rain boots. Here's what I think.
Always go with pink, that's my motto. My sister called me last year before venturing to Spain for study abroad and asked if she should get the khaki or pink messenger bag they give you (she kicked out the black option early for some reason). Without a second of thought I said pink. We talked about this for way too long and she went with the khaki, thanks for asking Tina.
My mom called recently and was switching out my phone for a new free one (thanks mom) and she said in a hurry, "Pink or black?" Pink. Really, is there a question here? The way I see it, pink goes with everything and it's so much more interesting than black. I guarantee you people will give you a many more complements on the pinks ones.
If Josh had our pics on here from last year I'd post my pink room on it. I painted my office hot pink and then put up gold streaks on top. I loved it, but it really wasn't condusive to anything but dance parties which were never held in there, so I changed it to a light purple, which I love, and can now accent with hot pink.
Q: While there are some great black and brown shoes out there, don't you notice the colorful ones more often?

still can't paint our walls! i hate renting! but when I can, i will paint each one a different color. I don't have colored shoes, but I do have a giant red purse that I love...and never lose...
Afton, you crack me up. I do have pink shoes and yellow and green and blue and red and gold and silver and the basics like brown and black too. I also have a pink purse although right now I've been into my red one. Red goes with everything too. I have a red phone and a red ipod.
Just 2 days ago I saw some red shoes that I really really wanted to get. Speaking of colored shoes-have you seen my pic on fb? forget it. I'm making an always-intened to post about it. You're good for me. Making me write about things I've been meaning to write about.
Pink phone. I always thought they were tacky, cheap looking, and well-trampy looking. BUT. Then I opted for a pink phone. Another perk to a health scare-going for color. I still think that pink phones look a little bit trampy. I just figure that those who know me know I'm not-and those who don't-well, we'll make them wonder now, won't we? :)
1. Yes, I notice the colored shoes more often.
2. My colored shoes are: red, green and silver. Kelly green is my favorite color lately. I have lots of clothes of that color, and the most amazing green purse that I use as my everyday purse. I think it is a neutral, just like pink.
3. No pink rooms, but my home is gray and black and white and the accent colors are raspberry (I have 2 stuffed chairs that color and lots of pillows and vases that color) and egglplant. Lexi's room was lilac colored, but she wants a pink room this next time we paint.
i do have a couple pairs of pink shoes i love them all - but i especially love my green ones and red ones and blue ones and black ones and brown - mainly i love shoes and all colors go figure :)
I'm so not a fashion person, but, yes, I do notice the colored shoes. I seem to have more pairs of green shoes than anything--maybe more than black or brown. ??Not really any pink in our house, except my running shoes and favorite running skirt!
And I usually go with the black, because I just don't know if I can pull off pink. . .
Jared got me a black phone, then I made him get me a pink case for it. I haven't been brave enough to buy different colored dress shoes, only your norm black and brown.
We do have a pink room in the house, which is Kali's room. I'm still trying to convince Jared to let me paint our bathroom lavender. Dara
Yes, I noticed colored shoes but I probably notice them about as much as I notice black shoes.
I have black shoes, cream colored shoes (that totally hurt so I don't wear them) and my grey tennis shoes I posted in my blog. I've got way too many shoes!
We don't have any pink rooms. We don't have any daughters either. I just am NOT a pink person!

1.Yes, I definitely notice colored shoes first!
2.Colored shoes for me?? Of course!! My fave ones are green and white Shelly's from London, (everyone thinks they're bowling shoes, but I don't think they look like that at all!)They tie on the side and are the BEST purchase I made in Europe! I've got plaid flats, green flats, blue flats, brown/blue Pumas, blue/yellow espadrilles...the list is too long...:)
3.We don't have any pink rooms cuz I did as a kid and hated it! (I changed it to lavender when I got older.)It has to be the right color pink for me - a coral/salmon-ish color pink. But you'd like Celia's room - it has one wall of yellow stripes and red accent lamps, curtains, etc. Love it!
Okay, okay. Pink it is. :) They are FUN.
I own a lot of colored shoes- but no pink. If I had more than four rooms (bathroom, living room, kitchen, bedroom), I would just maybe paint one pink. :)
Afton, this is why I like you, your insatiable love of color. Really, I like it. I would pick the black if the only other choice were pink. I have horrible memories of being stuffed into pink lacy dresses as a child. I would however go for the green (usually lime right now) or the orange option. Those are my happy colors.
As for shoes, sorry basic black and brown for me (did I mention I'm cheap?), except my running shoes, I usually get some funky color because I'll only buy them on clearance.
I love my friends, I've had so much fun reading these comments! I don't know if any of you will read this or not, but I'm motivated to up my colored shoes factor since I'm a little barren there.
I want to see pictures of all these great shoes and rooms! I had to google "kelly green" and Shelly's--which I still can't find, but I did find a company named "Shelly's" in London. Is it a style or just a brand you're talking about?
Oh, and about looking trampy, that's hilarious! That's my best look of course. I haven't paid much attention to phones other people have unless they're all charmed out with jingles and stuff on them to be sure they are noticed. I love your funny thoughts Autumn!
Hmmm - I agree to an extent. Sometimes I like to go really dark - as in a lot of black because I feel exotic and mysterious. =) I wish I was joking because I feel so teeny-bopper, but it's the truth! Other than that, I agree, colors are usually more fun and exciting! And I LOVE lots of colors in a home. My mother-in-law has purple carpet (it's tasteful, not ugly) and red walls. Again - it sounds like a bit much, you really have to see how gorgeous the home is, but anyway, I think colors are great! Oh, and yes, I have a pair of high-heeled plaid shoes that are pink and light blue plaid that I LOVE. I also have some red polka dot and plain red high heelers. And blue ones with a button on them. However, to be honest, my very VERY favorite shoes are a pair of black high-heeled Steve Madden shoes that are woven and make my feet look sexy. I guess that means I'm in both worlds - I love a lot of color, but black is fun, too.
Ok, why don't I just have my own blog? Like you need a whole post from me! Sorry about that!

Oh, and my favorite cell phone colors are actually red or white. My sister has a white one that looks awesome and mine is red and I LOVE it!
