From then on, I had lots of other scout staff asking for a haircut. They were all of the mountain-man type who didn't really care what they looked like and we were in the middle of nowhere for a whole summer, so it was great to practice on them.
When we lived in NYC I interviewed with Aveda hair school, but found out that you had to be in school totally year round except Christmas Eve and Christmas and with Josh's sweet law school schedule (3.5 weeks off for Christmas), I just couldn't do it. And then there was the $12,000 tuition.
I think I may go someday, but for now, just doing the home salon on brave souls. Which boils down to me, my girls, my husband and sister.
Here is a stylin City girl, she tried to help cut Tina's hair. I thankfully caught her just in the nick of time, she had both hands on a pair of brand new hair cutting scissors in her hands with the blades fully open and a huge chunk of hair at the nape of Tina's neck about to chop when I caught her. Tina almost ended up with a bob.
I couldn't resist chopping my own a week later. The back was just starting to grow out and it all needed cleaning up. And gosh I need a new dye.
Q: Are you a self-hair-cutter?

You are BRAVE! I definitely could not do my own hair. It looks great though! Saves a ton of money too if you can do your whole family.
NOT a self cutter but I wish I was A) brave enough to be B) skilled enough. Nice job!!
it took me forever to learn how to cut just the back of phillip's hair where he can't reach (poor guy, lots of iffy haircuts in our married life). i've never been gutsy enough to do my own.
