I usually tend to write about thoughts I have and burning questions I want others thoughts on, I don't usually write about my husband. It's sort of my space for my thoughts, and that gets a little personal and just a bit too mushy for me if I were to put my man into this. But today I am going to.
We got back from our Utah trip (which I'll try to post about tomorrow) around midnight on Tuesday (well technically Wed right?). I think Josh slept in until 6 something that morning. Then Thursday, in the middle of the night, Josh kissed me and said goodbye. I tried clear my mind, was he dressed for work? What was going on? Confused I asked if he knew it was 4:45am, to which he did in fact know and was not making the daylight savings mistake. He'd gotten up at 4:30 because he had a lot of work to do.
Last night I begged him to sleep in (I'm usually doing this when he gets up at 5 or 5:15, to which if I'm being effectively persuasive, he might humor me--like once every two weeks--and add 15 min). He said he was, he was going to get up at 4:50. Well I'm not sure what happened, but he kissed me goodbye at 4:45 again.
I talked to him about this a bit yesterday and he said the only other option when he's this busy is to stay at the office until 10 at night and then he wouldn't get to see our girls. So instead, he gets up when I'm usually up for a potty break and planning a few more hours of sleep. And it's not like he's not tired, he's totally wiped out, but he has this insane amount of self-discipline and is doing it so he can still have family time. I didn't know it before I married him, but if I were to only know this about him before I was married, I would've snatched him up all over again.
He works hard all night long (as I like to think of anything before 6 am:), all day, then comes home for dinner, usually helps, helps with the kids, clean-up, and bedtime routines. Then he goes to work in his home office. It's not always like this, but it's been busy lately and I'm just so grateful, and a bit amazed, that I had to share.
I know you all have your own husbands or boyfriends and all, but isn't he awesome??? :) And this is just one of the many awesome things about him, it's just the kind of man I have.
I'll spare you from questions about how great my hubby is and just ask you:
Q: What's one of your favorite things about the man in your life?

Stephen makes sure every day to tell me how beautiful I am. It makes me feel really good, and even if I don't believe him, I know he believes what he says. He knows exactly what to say all the time, and that's one of the things I love best about him!
Josh is one of the best. I used to joke with Angela about what she was going to do to find a man, as all the good ones were in her family. ;-)
Mercy!!!!!!!!!! Josh that's terrible--that you have to get up so early! That stinks! :(
My fav--fatherhood is RIGHT at the top of the list. Jake also hates it when he can't see Ellie during the day. It kills him when she's asleep before he's home!
Hm, I'd say one of my favorite things is that Travis and I are so alike that we never argue. We know what each other is thinking, we have the same opinions about everything...seriously. If there's ever a small disagreement, we'll end up laughing about whatever we're talking about. He's so easy-going. Makes him a terrific father too. Guess him and Josh come from the same stock. :)
Jared is a fabulous cook which is such a nice perk. And also, he thinks I'm just about the greatest thing that ever lived. It's pretty nice to be adored.
Still SO bummed that we missed each other last week!
You guys are so good together. I get so happy when I hear that my good friends have awesome husbands.
I was just thinking tonight while I was doing dishes or something about how I sometimes get glimpses of the absolutely amazing person I'm married to and it just blew me away. I honestly think that sometimes I can't even think about it or else I feel like I am totally undeserving! =) Glad you have one like that, too. =)
