What really gets me is this party who is protecting the dishonest party to maintain a weird business relationship (that's bad for clients), which is pretty darn unethical. Ugh. I'm so SO irritated and it drives me nuts when I have to deal with it. I'm trying to sort this out to make the situation right and to prove our honesty in it and the party in charge just wants to brush it all under the rug and make us go away. How convenient it would be for them to keep on using their little sidekicks to do shoddy business with people for them.

Thankfully I feel like most people try to do what's right, it just seems that sometimes when it comes to business people forget that little compass at home and they think "it's just business." No, it's your integrity.
Q: Have you dealt with a similar situation?
Q: Do you find yourself dealing with ethical problems much?Q: Do you think most people are ethical?
Q: Does this type of thing even bother you? (You might be more forgiving than me:)

Remember one VERY important fact: You now live in California. And California is not the state known for it's upright citizens (LA Riots, anybody living in Hollywood or thereabouts, etc.)
I think that most people are ethical, but I don't really have to deal with it much. Sure, I've run into the scum who have ripped me off, but I don't let it bother me for very long. Besides, Elder Bednar said that offense is a choice we make. If something bothers you, it's because you choose to let it bother you. I have a hard time with that sometimes, but I always try to remember that, and usually I can get over what ails me.
Yes, that's a good point about offense and I agree with his talk, but I feel like this is a little different than offense, it's right and wrong to me. Money is involved and two large companies, one that should be loyal to us, so future relationships are important as well. It's sticky and frustrating! The hard part has been to remember to be Christlike about it and to be a good example, which I've tried so I don't think they know how irritated I am, so this is my outlet:).
I'm so excited I found your blog! Sorry we didn't make it to the meeting on Sunday, we were out of town. Let us know what we can do to help!
We had to deal with a dishonest business person last year actually, and I hated it. Until I could resolve things so I knew I had done my honest-to-goodness part, it seriously made me sick to my stomach.
Good luck with it! I hope things get sorted out soon.
Afton,
Now you have me curious! So frustrating! We know it goes on around us but when we're involved it all comes screetching to a frustrating halt!! Just do the best you can. They will answer for it eventually.
Side note:
I like all of your cartoons and pictures. Little fun details!
hey afton,
i feel your pain. it always pains me greatly to see how dishonest people can be. if you've checked my blog lately you have seen that rob has dealt with some of that recently with his company. big businesses are the ones that i find to often be unethical, but individuals as well. it's hard to swallow when you are a good person who tries to live morally and ethically and expects/hopes for the same in return.
i have wanted to comment earlier but been busy with moving. i wanted to say how sorry i am that you are going through such a nightmare with your new home. i hope things are improving.
lots of love, laurel
