Excited for Christmas

I just watched this clip because I love the Rockette's and got to go to their show in NYC one year. It was the best performance of any kind I'd been too, I was absolutely in love. As I watched this I sort of yearned for Christmas and the gatherings and food and of course the music! Here's to Christmas! And the Rockettes of course;).

Q: Have you seen them perform?
Q: What is your favorite performance/show you've ever been to?

Me too! When I lived in nyc I decided to dedicate my existence to becoming a rockette, but was quickly shot down when I read that you have to be 5'7" at least. Boo! Love this video though.

I had no idea that is what they were like! I was thinking 80's Rockette and wondered how they could be so popular for NYC Christmas. What a totally different style than some rock extravaganza I imagined! Funny, huh! I totally felt like I was watching something that came off of Annie! They are so insinc it is incredible!

Ok, so I've never really paid attention to who The Rockettes were, so watching this video was pretty much my first exposure.

I noticed a couple of things.

1) The choreography is pretty simple when compared to many other dances I've seen (Dancing W/the Stars, SYTYCD)

2) Even though the choreography is simple, the girls were hitting each move 100% together and on time, which made it look so much better than many other more complex dances.

3) The kick line was pretty cool. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders kick all the way up, and that's impressive, but these chicks had a set height, that wasn't all the way up, and every girl kicked to the exact same height as the others, which (I imagine) is more difficult to do.

4) Not much ethnic diversity within the group. I wonder if that's to help keep things uniform- much like the height requirement.
