It's Sunday evening and I'm just enjoying a moment to myself and I realized that it's my 100th post! All I can think about is how nice it is to sit and have a cup of chamomile tea, have made two batches of cookies (and eaten about half the dough) and actually be on the internet relaxing. I think I might even have a chance to look at some friends blogs. But then again, Josh and I need to look at CA housing, can't get too carried away you know.
We have been BUSY this month. I was in Ohio with the girls, then Josh's mom came to help us for a week while he studied for the bar, they left the same day, then I finished up getting the house ready and finally putting it up on the market last Wednesday--hooray! Now that he's done with the bar exam (hoping he passed) and I'm done getting the house ready, we have a huge wave of relief and semi-relaxation.
Almost anyway. Keeping the house spotless any time we leave the house has made me want to be a homebody so we don't have to do a cleaning blitz if I want to walk to the park or get groceries. Pretty annoying and it's only been a few days.
I've neglected most parts of my life while trying to get this house ready, so here's to coming back to life! In this new life I commit to being a better mom who spends more time playing with my kids instead of working working working on the home. I'm so excited about this!
Here is our home listing. While I'm not a fan of the pics, our realtor just wanted to get something up. I took some new ones including the bedroom pic that's up and hope to get those up soon instead. Hoooooray! Here are my pics:

This is our living room--I promise we had two realtors come over and BOTH said to leave it orange, not like "it's okay to leave orange" but suggesting we don't paint it...we'll see.
Boring kitchen, but awesome backsplash. I need to get a bouquet of flowers or something. This place used to be bright green so it feel pretty naked and that's an awkward feeling.
Q: What's your favorite room?
Q: Honestly, not looking to change anything else because it sounds like a pain, but we're open to suggestions if it would help: What do you think we should change to sell?

I think your house looks great Afton! I love the colors in Hazel's room. We're sad to see you guys leave, but excited for you too! :)
The house looks GORGEOUS! All of it, it will sell so easily! Where are you guys moving in CA? We've got roots both in Northern and Southern CA, so it will be fun to hear where you guys are going! You can email tristenlawrence@gmail.com. In case you are coming anywhere near where we know, I'd love to give you some information if I've got it! It's so hard to move to a new place, but you can't beat California weather, Northern or Southern! Good luck!
Favorite room: the orange one.
What I would change: I don't know for sure, but our kids bathroom in our house was green. We were getting worried that it wasn't going to sale, so we painted it and the first people to look at it after that were the ones that bought it. Not that they bought it because we painted the bathroom, maybe they turned around and painted it green, but you never know. People are so funny about color. I say if you don't like it, then paint it, it's your house! But houses sell better when they are neutral, it's weird.
What a beautiful house! I love the decor. Good luck with the move and selling your house!
The house looks awesome!!! You've done great. My one suggestion would be to forget about the fresh flowers. I spent a fortune in time and energy on fresh flowers. It was ridiculous. Just get a cool woven or metal/wire basket for the kitchen island and keep colorful fresh fruit in it. (Stuff you probably have in your fridge anyway--Apples, Lemons, Limes, Oranges)
How exciting to finally be done after all that hard work. It looks great. Don't hesitate to call if you need a place to go while potential buyers are there.
I love you all! Thanks for all the nice comments, it's such a big to put your house on the market (well, getting it ready to anyway) so I appreaciate all the support! We had our first offer today but my realtor said it was low, I need to call her now--still though, exciting!
LOVE the orange! I love what you've done with everything, it looks like it will be such a hard place to leave!
Seeing all the pictures totally brought back memories of when I was there, I can't believe it was already 3 years ago! I'm SO glad you're coming out soon, that will be so good to see you!
Good luck selling, I'm sure it won't be hard! =)
