New Music

I'm putting together a new playlist and am starting it out with a few of my favorites, most of them old songs but there's always room for a few new ones. Last week we had a garage sale so I was going through stuff and found my old (well, 5 years old) discman and found inside it a CD Josh made for me. I hear songs in random places and write them down on scraps of paper and they end up all over the house. Josh has surprised me I think 3 times by rounding them all up (I don't know how he found them all) and has made me CD's--my most treasured presents.

I was of course dying to know what was on it since it's been a couple of years and there was some great music, one song being "Ice Ice Baby" and I busted out all of my early 90 dance moves. (Sorry about his little bleep, couldn't find an edited...) I'm about to right now!

Q: Do you like the new music?
Q: Do you love Ice Ice Baby?
Q: Do you like dancing to music in your house?
Q: What are 2 of your favorite songs? I'm looking to add some more and always love listening to new music (even if it's just old and I've forgotten about it, I have a terrible memory).

Have to comment on this one! :) You are too funny.

#1: New music is always fun. I like some of them too!

#2: LOVE Ice Ice Baby. It's so old and bad now, but so many memories.

#3: We all love to dance in our house. It's typical at lunch time or right after dinner. We turn up the music and dance while we clean up toys and do dishes.

#4: Two favorites? Just two? Well, of the top of my head I'll go with the top two in my current favorites list on my iPod: Take on Me by A-ha and Janie's Got a Gun by Aerosmith.

I can't help myself though. I know I'm going to keep thinking about this, so I'll probably have more favorites later! :)

Here are Billy's two favorites ('cause we know you are dying to know): I Don't Have Anything by Vast (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIJUDF7W5N4) and Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode. :)

1) I can't say I'm a huge fan of all of it (I assume you mean on your playlist widget) but some of it is fun.
2) "Ice Ice Baby" is like "U Can't Touch This" - it's old and cheesy, but you still like it and keep it on when you hear it.
3) I LOVE dancing in my house because nobody makes fun of me for being a dork! And my kids think it's a lot of fun when we do.
4) I have a hundred songs that I love to move and groove to, but 2 that I am into right at this moment are "It's Raining Men" by Geri Haliwell, and "Paralyzer" by Finger Eleven.
...But almost anything by MJ makes the cut as well!

How funny, I was just on facebook and saw that Mel likes Toad the Wet Sprocket and now A-Ha--A-Ha was my fave group in the 80's (I had a huge crush on the drummer) and Toad was my fave in the 90's and now it's Lifehouse.

#1 I like new music, but I'm still devoted to the 90's alternative music. I recently got on the Coldplay bandwagon. Can't get enough of Viva La Vida.

#2 I used to know the dance moves to Ice Ice Baby-You can't help but dance to it! btw Vanilla Ice/MC Hammer is touring this summer TOGETHER. My friend just bought tickets to see them in SLC!

#3 We dance and sing while we work (um..do chores) Kade has his own cd mix--totally into "Pocket Full of Sunshine" and Taylor Swift.

#4 I'm currently listening to "Hot N Cold" by Katy Perry.

Oh, and when I hear "...What is Love, Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more..." I can't help but think of the movie A Night At The Roxbury and start doing the head bop. Brings back memories of the college days....:)
