Races

I have finally been convinced to run the Boston Marathon. I wasn't going to do it for a number of reasons, but I've succumbed to pressure and just signed up. I have a lot going on in the upcoming months and didn't think I'd have the time I'd like to put into it to do as well as I'd like, but I've been told you do the Boston, I mean, THE Boston for the experience of it.

I was just going to sort of wait it out like I did the last one just to see if it was possible and if I could keep up on training and do it, then great. I just don't like all the pressure of being locked into something you're not sure you can totally dedicate yourself to. But then I realized I might not get this chance again, at least for a long time and I'd probably just regret it.

So I made a deal with myself. If I could get up and go running before the kids get up, Josh would work from home home in the mornings while I ran and then I could get back and still have the morning to get things done. I'm going on 3 weeks here and so far, I've done it! I think I might be prouder of this feat than any kind of running times.

While I was at it, I signed up for the Surfside Marathon in Galveston on Valentines Day. I asked Josh to be my date and run with me, we'll see. He's only run 3 times since our marathon because he's been sick for like a month. Unbeknown to him, I just signed him up too. I'm hoping we'll get to run together for once and have a date on the beach. Is that a mean VDay present?

Q: What is something you're proud of that you've recently done that you wouldn't normally find yourself doing? (Like my getting up in the cold darkness to run...ahh)

Does taking a shower count??? Not that I wouldn't prefer to take one more often . . . But I'm usually too busy chasing my four rascals around! :) Anyway, YOU GO GIRL!
