One more thought on nursing. Did you feel any noticeable change in energy once you stopped nursing? As I wrote in the comments section, my only benefit I can see to stopping nursing is regaining some energy. I feel like I've just been hammering my body since having her with dieting, running and nursing (and those are just the physical strains).
If I stopped nursing before this marathon I'm wondering if it would give my body a much needed break (but I'd probably feel guilty since stopping running would be a more selfless way to do that).
Q: Did any of you feel a noticeable change in energy once you stopped nursing?
Q: Did you gain weight when you stopped? FYI: This wouldn't change my decision, just curious.
Q: Did your appetite go down when you stopped?

1. YES
2. No, I lose weight when I quit, but not before.
3. YES, but for me, it's nice, then I'm not maddeningly hungry all of the time.
1. No, just had more time to do other things.
2. Yes, I gained about 7 lbs. It sucks.
3. Some, but not a ton because by the end I was only nursing a couple times a day so I didn't have that crazy hunger all the time.
Guess it's different for everyone.
Hi! I don't know if you remember me at all from big hair church dances days, but I have kept in touch with Autumn since she is in my mom's ward in Rey-burg :) Anyway, I hopped over to your blog, I didn't know you were in Texas! And I wanted to let you know that if there is another hurricane I am DEMANDING that you stay with us in Austin instead of that Days Inn in San Antonio!! hehe...or anytime you want to visit Austin, yall are welcome to stay with us :) I love your blog by the way and am sooo envious that you have the dedication to running to run marathons!!! Way to go!
Oh It just dawned on me that I didn't tell you who I was... Judy Adam's daughter Lisa, I have a younger sister you might have known better, Amy :) and with the nursing stuff....
I always lost a ton of weight while nursing and a little after too, I think I ate less after nursing, I don't think I noticed an energy boost....this is hard, but you'll get to do it again right :)
1. Unfortunately, no.
2. Yes, 5 pounds
3. I don't think so (sad, isn't i?) But that might be b/c I weaned Kaden so gradually...who knows. Good luck!
Thanks so much for calling last week to check on us. You're so sweet. I love love love nursing but is also so nice to have some freedom once you're done. I feel like I had less energy after but I think it was because I was chasing after two kids. I look pregnant til the day I stop nursing and then it falls off. Hopefully you won't lose any once you're done cuz you look so great! As far as appitite mine totally went down but of course everyone is different. Good luck!!
I have much more energy and lose weight when I stop nursing. Don't feel guilty about quitting. You need to take care of you and Josh and going on a trip is a great way to do it. Your trip sounds so fun. I also tagged you for quirks so you'll have to check out my to see what to do. I can't wait to read more about the awesome Afton!
I love all of you guys and thanks for your comments. It's interesting how different it is for every woman, but I like to hear all sorts of possibilities.
I've been doing lots of bottles lately and I forgot what a pain it is to wash all the parts of the bottles every time (4 pieces for the Dr. Brown kind, ugh). And how much formula stinks. I wouldn't want to drink it if I were her either.
I'd love an energy boost when I stop, maybe I'll just be able to notice the difference when I'm running, maybe not though.
And hi Lisa! I have to say I can't place you, but your name is familiar and I'd love to take you up on your offer to house us in case of another hurricane, that's so nice of you! Thanks!
And thanks for all of your thoughts everyone. Melissa, I have to talk to you, I'm sorry it's been so long!
